Our Mission

We are dedicated to increasing opportunities, primarily for people who may be disadvantaged, either socially, economically or culturally, to take an active part in the process of music, film/video production and photography and benefit from the development of self-esteem, self confidence and the feeling of value and achievement that such participation brings.

  • Aims and Objectives

    • >> To develop and make available, current and adequate resources for use in the development of skills in the arts and crafts of creative media and music production technology.
    • >> Provide relevant training opportunities to those currently under-represented within and/or excluded from traditional education.
    • >> Support learning opportunities through delivery within existing community learning centres and schools.
    • >> Empower individuals to take control of their own learning and set personal challenges and goals.
    • >> To provide positive experiences of and knowledge through the use of media technology and techniques.
    • >> Promote lifelong learning.
    • >> To enable rural and disadvantaged communities to participate in creative media activities, develop skills, self confidence, and a 'voice'.
    • >> To create high quality film, photography, web, and print resources, that reflect diverse rural communities and issues, and challenge stereotypes and prejudice.
    • >> To reach and inspire audiences to encourage learning, understanding, and dialogue about films and media and the issues and emotions that they raise.

    Partnerships

    Hi-Def Media is clearly a Social Enterprise partnership working directly with Individuals, Educational Institutions, Businesses, Local Authorities and Special Interest Groups. Our partnership engagement range from project management to creative partners. For instance, we may work with a special interest group to develop media products for information and training or simply, developing custom training resources and facilitating accredited workshops and skills training in the arts and crafts of Audio, Video and Film Production and Publishing.
